About this opportunity

Projects should improve methods and models for predicting deep reservoir structures and properties, integrating scarce data and identifying suitable locations for Enhanced Geothermal Systems or closed-loop geothermal approaches. The topic budget is EUR 18 million, with an expected EU contribution of around EUR 4.5 million per project and about four projects funded.

Objectives

Increase knowledge of deep geothermal resources, improve drilling success and system performance, reduce geological and induced-seismicity risks, and enable safer and more cost-effective deployment with benefits for local energy systems.
