About this opportunity

Projects should develop methods for gathering, sharing and using extensive, high-quality energy datasets and train advanced, preferably open-source, AI foundation models. Use cases can address grid observability, forecasting, renewable energy and storage, demand flexibility and energy efficiency. The topic budget is EUR 30 million, with an expected EU contribution of around EUR 10 million per project and about three projects funded.

Objectives

Create trustworthy and reusable energy-data ecosystems and AI models while improving interoperability, FAIR data use, privacy and cybersecurity, and enabling better planning and operation of a decarbonised energy system.
